Pacemaker cannot start "azure-lb" resource in Azure after updating the "resource-agents" package

This document (000021461) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 15 SP5
SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 15 SP4
SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 15 SP3
Azure Cloud

Situation

After updating the "resource-agents" package, the pacemaker cluster is not able to start the "azure-lb" resource in an Azure Cloud HA Cluster.

The following is a snippet of the error message in the cluster:

  ... node1 azure-lb(rsc_nc_HN1_HDB01)[3410]: ERROR: /usr/lib/ocf/resource.d/heartbeat/azure-lb: line 99: kill: (3437) - No such process

This issue can occur in Azure Cloud when IPv6 is disabled in the system (for example "ipv6.disable=1" is set in the kernel parameters).

The following "resource-agents" package versions are affected:

  - SLE HAE 15 SP3: resource-agents-4.8.0+git30.d0077df0-150300.8.40.2
  - SLE HAE 15 SP4: resource-agents-4.10.0+git40.0f4de473-150400.3.25.2
  - SLE HAE 15 SP5: resource-agents-4.12.0+git30.7fd7c8fa-150500.3.6.2

Resolution

This bug is already fixed in the following "resource-agents" package versions:
  - SLE HAE 15 SP3: resource-agents-4.8.0+git30.d0077df0-150300.8.43.2
  - SLE HAE 15 SP4: resource-agents-4.10.0+git40.0f4de473-150400.3.28.2
  - SLE HAE 15 SP5: resource-agents-4.12.0+git30.7fd7c8fa-150500.3.9.2

Cause

A regression occurred due to a bug fix to support IPv6 in Azure HA Cluster environments.
